Apollon - International Interactive Educational Network

Goal of the Network

The Apollon IIEN is a non-profit association, which focuses on pedagogy, assessment, activities and curriculum development for supporting and mentoring Gifted Talented students (in art, sciences etc.) and their teachers.

Developing Systematic Interactive Educational Networks is a dynamic process to inform those scientists who may be interested about the creation of a communication network in order to reinforce the collaboration and interaction among teachers and others, regarding the efficiency of their educational work in supporting and mentoring the Gifted Talented students and their teachers.

The objective of the project was to define the teachers’ role in transferring knowledge and preparing the students to develop themselves. As a result there is a continuous requirement for exchanging ideas and experiences between professional teachers. This type of communication could be facilitated via the Open & Distance Learning programmes and various other techniques of innovation in education.

The method that was used included an Action Research program for Creative Teaching & Learning in the following subjects: Music, Mathematics, Art, History, Archaeology, Geography etc.). The main goal of this program was to develop both Multicultural Communication and Creative Educational Networks.

Music and Math as Universal Communicating Languages, Technology and many other subjects are useful for the development of an interactive environment. This may lead us to develop deeper understanding of civilisations and help us in using gained experiences in the educational process.

Our goal is to provide a supportive environment for students’ growth, education and development of their personal interests and talents by satisfying the needs that Gifted Talented students usually have and by supporting and motivating them to discover, develop and perform their personal talents and needs.
